10th Literature Day - Relationships
With Paula Fürstenberg, Stefanie Gerhold, Behzad Karim Khani, Sara Klatt, Jessica Lind, Dominika Meindl

‘I - you - we’ - literature is like a seismograph in the web of relationships. There are many types of relationships. But no two are the same: There is the loving mother, plagued by frightening doubts, in Jessica Lind's novel ‘Little Monsters’. There is the patron who gives money and still doesn't belong, in Stefanie Gerhold's historical novel ‘The Queen's Smile’. There is the friendship between two people that falters when both suddenly need care, in Paula Fürstenberg's novel ‘Weltalltage’. Even the feeling we call home is inconceivable without relationships. But how do those whose pride is trampled underfoot in their new homeland fare? - Behzad Karim Khani asks this question in his somewhat different novel about home, ‘When We Were Swans’. The first-person narrator in Sara Klatt's debut ‘The Land I Want to Show You’ searches for what it means to be connected in Israel. Dominika Meindl's debut ‘Selbe Stadt, anderer Planet’ is about the relationship with those who are not looking for a home but a photogenic holiday destination. Join us on this special literary relationship journey at the 10th Literature Day!
