Analogica 14 -Filmfestival (Zelig)

Analogica 14 -Filmfestival (Zelig)

Avant-garde and experimental cinema, home movies archives, expanded cinema, and the practice of filmmaking once again take center stage at this year’s ANALOGICA program, returning to the historic center of Bolzano.
Set in the spaces of WAAG, we will present the screenings of Analogica Selection 14, featuring 42 films across 7 distinct programs. This year’s selection showcases a diverse array of highly compelling works from around the world.
At WAAG, we will also host a special retrospective dedicated to artist and filmmaker Dagie Brundert, who will be joining us from Berlin. She will lead a workshop on Super 8 filmmaking and eco-friendly, alternative development processes, held at FotoForum. The concept of film projection as a unique, one-time performance lies at the heart of the Expanded Cinema Night program, which will feature projects by Riojim, Marek Pluciennik, and Andrea Saggiomo. Theories and practices of experimental cinema are the focus of the presentation of Screening exercises - Quaderni, a project by altriformati
We are also thrilled to announce a new collaboration with Zelig, the documentary school in Bolzano. Together with the invaluable FAS – Film Association of South Tyrol – we will present a program dedicated to home movies archives. This program will feature Nuno Escudeiro’s remarkable work Death of a Mountain alongside a Analogica Selection 14 program screening. Zelig will also host a discussion on the use of home movies archives, featuring contributions from Nuno Escudeiro, Federico Di Corato, and Mattia Biondi, all of whom are part of Analogica Selection 14.
