ALBERTO GARUTTI

Presentation of the monograph on Alberto Garutti published by Studio Celant

29.08.2024 19:00

Museion is hosting the national preview of the publication of the first comprehensive monograph on the artist Alberto Garutti (1948-2023). With his work, he redefined the design of public artworks in Italy. Garutti's history is linked in a special way to that of Museion through the Little Museion - Cubo Garutti, which was built in 2003 in the Don Bosco district of Bolzano. The book presentation of the monograph is also linked to the exhibition Little Museion - Cubo Garutti, which runs until 1 September. A story that celebrates the 20th anniversary of this special public building. According to Alberto Garutti, it is "dedicated to all those who pass by here and stop to take an interest - even if only for a brief moment".
Antonella Soldaini, curatorial advisor and head of the research department at Studio Celant, Lorenzo Balbi, artistic director of MAMbo in Bologna, and Francesco Garutti, deputy director of the CCA in Montreal and son of the artist, will take part in the first presentation to the public. The discussion will be moderated by Frida Carazzato, Museion's research curator.
Every Thursday evening, Museion invites you to a free guided tour at 19:00, with extended museum opening hours until 22:00. Admission is free from 18:00. No registration required.
