How is the bark beetle influencing the forest ecosystem?
What are the consequences of the Vaia storm on our woods?
Are the effects of the bark beetle solely negative?
How can we contribute to the health and recovery of our forests?

Face to face with Roland, an expert forest guide who has closely followed the aftermath of the Vaia storm that struck our woods in 2018. We are in the 'Bosch de Ciaulunch', near the Campolongo pass. Walking through the forest with Roland, guests have the chance to witness the storm's impact on the forests and learn how the proliferation of the bark beetle is affecting the woodland ecosystem, finding ideal conditions for development within the habitat of the fallen trees.

Roland's passion for nature is highly infectious, and it is in this way that the guest, armed with the information provided, gains a comprehensive understanding of the entire forest ecosystem, including the different types of trees present and their significance for biodiversity and forest health. Knowledge, as it is well known, is the most effective tool for the protection of any territory.

This experience is part of ATIRA: a series of weekly meetings and excursions designed to raise awareness about crucial issues for maintaining sustainable territorial development. With ATIRA, you become a guardian of the Dolomites: you will not only learn fascinating facts about the mountains but also how to actively contribute to the protection of our territory. It's an opportunity to connect with the Dolomite nature, which is everyone's heritage and thus requires everyone's respect.
