Our adventure todays takes us to: Prato Piazza

Along the route of the old 'Dolomite Railway' (closed for many years) on a wide, slightly uphill dirt road we cross the fairytale-like Landro Valley. After passing Lake Toblach and the war cemetery, after a short time we can enjoy the wonderful view of the famous Three Peaks of Lavaredo. Shortly after the enchanting Lake Landro we ascend along an old military road to Prato Piazza. After about six kilometres and just 500 metres of altitude difference, we find ourselves on the extensive plateau in the middle of the Braies Dolomites. After refreshments in a cosy hut, we have two options for descending towards Braies: either along a fast track or along the asphalted road. Having reached the bottom of the valley, we effortlessly return to our starting point in Toblach.
