Chester Watson, a rapper and producer born in St. Louis but raised between Georgia and Florida, may only be 27, but he already has a career filled with highs and lows, odysseys and rebirths. After periods of deep reflection, his new 2023 album "Fish Don't Climb Trees", largely self-produced, is a testament to his regained confidence and has reaffirmed him as a great rap auteur.
His mix of introspection and experimentation confirms him as one of the most visionary artists in contemporary hip hop.
Joining him on stage is Elaquent, a producer who has reinvented the sound of beat music. Influenced by giants like J Dilla and DJ Premier, his distinctive originality makes him unmistakable. Originally from Toronto, Elaquent has become one of the most respected figures on the beat scene, thanks to dozens of projects and remixes that have pushed the boundaries of the genre.
Together, Chester Watson and Elaquent offer a kaleidoscopic and transformative sonic experience. Their latest joint work, "Montisona", is a psychedelic odyssey that blends glitches, percussion and hypnotic atmospheres, a mix that promises to enchant and amaze.
