The Cordia Academy for Early Music aims to facilitate the meeting of young musicians from various European countries. This collective music-making serves as a means of fostering cross-border cultural exchange and connecting people through musical collaboration.
This year's academy orchestra concert will be conducted by the Russian pianist Maxim Emelyanychev, who was a guest conductor at the Cordia Academy in 2018. Today, he conducts the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, New Japan Philharmonic, Osaka Kansai Philharmonic, Bergen Philharmonic, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. As a soloist, pianist, and conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the ensemble Il Pomo d'Oro, he is regularly awarded international prizes.
