Nativity scene of Val Gardena
In Val Gardena – the valley famous for its magnificent wood sculptures – the preparation of the nativity scene is a longstanding tradition, a ritual which has always been popular with all the local inhabitants. According to tradition, Baby Jesus was laid in a manger on the evening of Christmas Eve, and the Three Wise Men arrived on January 6th. The nativity scene remains in homes until the end of the Christmas period.
