The renowned Duo Schiavo/Marchegiani, well-known on the stages of the most important international music scenes, presents here a complete set of Brahms' Hungarian Dances. Johannes Brahms' 21 Hungarian Dances for piano four-hands are inspired by Hungarian folk music, mixing lively rhythms with nostalgic melodies and evoking the energy and character of the Central European folk tradition. Brahms, fascinated by Gypsy sounds, was able to transpose the irresistible vitality and emotional intensity of the folk dances into these compositions, while reworking them with a personal touch. The Hungarian Dances remain one of the composer's best-known and best-loved works, appreciated for both their spontaneity and compositional elegance.
