We ascend from St. Martin and first visit the Steinhaus Schildhof farm, visible from afar. The hike continues along the Tratlegg primeval trail, past mountain farms to the Jaufenblick inn. After a rest, we descend to St. Leonhard and return southwards along the Passer, past Sandwirt, the birthplace of the South Tyrolean freedom hero Andreas Hofer and back to St. Martin.
Travel from the meeting point to the excursion departure points is by public transport.
