Berlin-based Swiss Samuel Blaser is a virtuoso trombonist with a lush sound and phrasing of astonishing plasticity. He is also an inspired composer who combines a sense of form with the spontaneity of improvisation in his various bands. In alliance with two renowned representatives of the French string school, double bassist Bruno Chevillon and cellist Vincent Courtois, Blaser explores the vocal register common to the three instruments - in a chamber music context and with a repertoire all his own.
This intimate and decidedly lyrical music plays brilliantly with the richness and complementarity of timbres, elevating this ‘trialogue’ to the status of great art. Contemporary chamber music jazz!
‘The immense potential of this new combination.’ (Jazz Magazine)
‘Elegance as well as energy.’ (Jazzword)
