“From the Deep” - deep vibrations from the earth can be felt everywhere. The bass forms the basis for symphonies and orchestras, not just for classical jazz bands. Although the instrument has often disappeared from music groups today, its sound remains present. Bottesini already pushed the double bass to its limits in classical music, and musicians such as Renaud Garcia Fons are continuing this development. But the bass simply does not stop at creative developments.
In this concert, this becomes particularly clear in two formations. Alessandro Fedrigo explores new worlds of sound with his digital instruments alone and is surprised and inspired by the unexpected results: Mutaforma. Baritube is completely different: Helga Plankensteiner, an experienced baritone saxophonist, chooses the tuba (Glauco Benedetti) as her low accompanist. Together with the percussive sounds of Daniele Patton, they immerse themselves in the deep sound spaces and explore every nuance ... partout!
