‘Feeling understood when no one else understands you’ has been Dalton's musical mantra since his youth, as he repeatedly explores themes around identity, the fractures of the self, fears, doubts, but also the strength that comes from accepting one's own demons. Ray Dalton opens his soul to his audience, throws himself into the music with everything he has and shows how much courage it takes to open up - and how much we can draw from it. And this is not only reflected in his lyrics: his rousing songs combine influences from gospel, electro and various styles of dance music, are always carried by energetic vocals and rhythms, are as dazzlingly abysmal as they are danceable.
In April, fans in this country will also get their chance: Ray Dalton is coming to South Tyrol, Ray Dalton Live on Saturday 26 April in Sulden at the Madrittsch hut.
