Summer Classics: Classic concert with the "Capella Lanensis" in the parish church
The Capella Lanensis, based in Lana (South Tyrol), was founded in 2021 by Josef Höhn and consists of renowned musicians from South Tyrol and the surrounding German- and Italian-speaking regions. With a flexible lineup, the ensemble primarily focuses on the interpretation of early and high Baroque music – performed on valuable original instruments or replicas. The two main pillars are, on the one hand, the insights of modern musicology regarding the performance practice of early music, and on the other, the desire for lively musicianship and the search for an individual sound appropriate to each work. Improvisation, an important aspect of Baroque music practice, is also embraced. The spirit of the works is intended to be conveyed to the audience, sparking curiosity for the rediscovery of musical treasures. The performances of Capella Lanensis are therefore characterized by an authentic sound, combined with a modern and current interpretation. The ensemble is supported and promoted by the association LanAntiqua and is regularly heard at the "Lana Musikfestival" in the late Gothic parish church of Niederlana, with its famous winged altar by Hans Schnatterpeck.
