After the long winter, the first mushrooms shyly return, and we discover them in the Monticolo woods.
We observe the various types of habitats where mushrooms grow. We pick mushrooms to observe their morphological and organoleptic characteristics at first hand and discuss both environmental topics - ways of life of mushrooms - and questions about edibility. We learn about the immense role of different types of mushrooms for forest ecosystems in particular, but also for humans.
Claudio Rossi, teacher of exercise and sports science (high school); responsible for the Italian-language school board (environmental education projects); scientific director of the Assoc. mycologica Bresadola Bolzano; specialist in the genus Cortinarius; also follows the mycological world in the industrial and gastronomic fields.
