The city of Bozen possesses a veritable treasure trove of churches built in the past, beginning with the earliest statements of Christianity. Today we can only observe the most modern buildings and some of those dating back to the Middle Ages, but our city hides an extraordinary number of churches, chapels and basilicas that have sprung up and disappeared in the most diverse places over the course of almost 1500 years. A journey through the history of ecclesiastical architecture through discoveries, investigations, documentation and much more to discover that Bolzano's past is full of fascinating evidence. (The following disappeared churches will be presented: St. John's at Loreto Bridge, St. Andrew's at the Grano Square, St. James's at the Gries Square, the hermitage of Santa Croce at the Druso Tower and, among those not accessible to the public, the church of St. Quirino).
