On Easter Monday, the Haflinger gallop race marks the beginning of the new racing season at the Merano horse racing track. In the morning (at 10 a.m.) the magnificently decorated floats and music bands parade through the city center. Programme of events at the racecourse starts at 11 a.m. and the race starts at 1 p.m. An interesting programme of side events and culinary treats enhances the thrilling racing action.
